Question: Why do you think fellow college students like to see their competitors fail?

Answer #1:

Its a character flaw fostered by the extremely competitive nature of getting into the best colleges. Its not about how well you do objectively - its how well you do compared to others. Its stupid but it does encourage that sort of silly behavior.

I had a stupid flaw as well when I was in college. I got straight honors in a math degree. I always seemed to get around to pointing this out to people to big note myself. It took a while to out grow it but I did eventually. I look back on it and cringe. I have now learned better. Hopefully she will as well.

Thanks
Bill
